Garnet Celtic Ring

This band was woven in wax wire, then cast in silver. A basket setting was added after casting, it embraces a garnet from the Queen of Garnets mine in Idaho.
There is no darker garnet available. This is so dark that I had to use a flash to get the color of the stone. In normal light the fiery reds leap out from crimson shadows. In sunlight the stone glows red as if a smoldering ember had been set into this band.
